Backyard theater events are a great way to add entertainment to an upcoming birthday party for your kids. Sometimes the backyard isn't the optimum place to setup outdoor movie projector rentals so you need to make the most of the space available. This time the driveway was used to accommodate the viewing area which would include the movie screen, seating areas on the concrete and adjacent grass of the front yard, multiple food and present tables, and enough room for kids to get up and run around in. This was the second movie night using the Mackie powered speakers. It was a lot of fun to really project the sound for all to hear, and to dial in the audio configuration using the new sound equipment. Extra safety precautions were taken for added protection. To protect the cables running from component to component we laid down a plastic runner similar to the rubber carpet liners used in hallways. This allowed guests at this outdoor movie party to walk on and over them without tripping or snagging them with shoes, toys, or other catching items. It's always a good idea to keep an eye on things, especially energetic kids, but the safety additions did their part and made the host and myself feel more comfortable.

It was quite a night and the outdoor movie projector rentals were a big hit. Over 40 children and adults showed up for the birthday party so it was a packed house. There were chairs, bodies, blankets, and popcorn all over the driveway and lawn. It was a great outdoor movie party. The weather was nice too only requiring a light jacket, but we noticed it was pretty damp at the end of the night. The screen had soaked up a fair amount of water so it had to be aired out the next day. All went well though...

Tips For Outdoor Movie Screen Rental

As mentioned before, safety for the guests and your equipment is essential.

Plastic runners, originally intended for carpeted hallways (I think) are a great way to blanket exposed cables and prevent snags and tripping. It can be purchased by the foot at some hardware or flooring stores. Just calibrate your outdoor movie projector, measure for the average length, and then buy that length plus a few extra feet. This may be the distance from your projector to screen, equipment rack to speakers, or power source to anything that plugs in.

To protect your outdoor movie projector, you might want to first think in terms of safety products for pets. What? A portable dog fence is a great way to enclose your projector from curious hands and those wandering the viewing area with their minds on other things. They stand about 2 feet tall and create a barrier that is about 6 feet in diameter. This allows for 2 to 3 feet of buffer around the projector in all directions. They're metal and heavy so they are stable and should last quite a while.
